  • Notes
    • At his famous father's death, Ivar got Ragnar's lands in Northumbria (England). He participated in several raids around England and came to be known as the "king of the Norsemen of all Ireland and Britain". He conquered York 866/7, killed St. Edmund of East Anglia 869. His reign was from 856-873. His sons and grandsons ruled Ireland.

My reasons for not considering Ragnar as an historical person have been explained in great details in previous postings to the GEN-MEDIEVAL newsgroup.
